About The Gary B Initiative

The Gary B. fund exists to further the legacy of GB VS MI, a class action lawsuit successfully filed by 7 students against the state seeking a constitutional right to a Quality Education, irrespective of zip code based on the 14th Amendment. Setting the Precedent of a right to literacy.

The Gary B Initiative aims to revolutionize education through its unique approach which includes Educational Organizing, Mutual Aid, and Professional Development. By empowering individuals and institutions with essential tools, GBI hopes to drive substantial and lasting change

throughout the nation and strengthen the advancement of social change cultivated by the most impacted.

Our Programs

Mutual Aid

The Initiative's Mutual Aid program is designed to support communities in times of crisis. Our program is structured to provide an immediate and effective response to emergencies, natural disasters, and other crises that impact vulnerable communities.

Professional Development

G.B.I’s Professional Development program is designed to provide individuals and institutions with the tools and resources they need to drive social change. Our program is structured to empower professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effect lasting change in their communities.

Educational Organizing

The Educational organizing program is

designed to provide a platform for marginalized communities to engage in educational activities that stimulate intellectual curiosity and promote social justice. Our program is structured to transform the traditional classroom setting into a community-driven learning environment. Our approach is focused on creating a space that is inclusive, accessible, and equitable for all individuals.
